it should be possible to use a vpn connection for wifi sharing.

Any Idea how to do this?

I'm sorry but I do not know much about VPN. Maybe I will look into it for later releases but this is not a planned feature.

Yes but the vpn is still just an virtual adapter, when using pptp. its like a dialupconnection or the lan itself.
